MI 3333 EV Training Vehicle – Metrel

Where to Buy
SKU: KIT-EVT-M-MI3333 Categories: , ,

The Metrel MI 3333 EV Training Vehicle is an e-mobility training platform designed to teach personnel how to safely work with electric vehicles and their high-voltage safety systems through hands-on exercises, presentations, and real-world test scenarios. It can simulate a 300 V high-voltage battery setup (two 150 V sub-batteries in series) along with adjustable faults across AC sockets, cables, the engine, inverter, batteries, and car body via 11 configurable switches, allowing trainees to practice diagnosing insulation and bonding failures. It’s compatible with several Metrel testers (including the MI 3132 EV Tester) and also trains users on safe approach techniques for high-voltage components, such as proper use of jumpers and protective barriers.

Key Features:

  • Full e-mobility training platform simulating a fully operational electric vehicle and its safety systems
  • Simulated 300 V high-voltage battery (two 150 V sub-batteries in series), with adjustable internal resistance (as low as 50 or 100 mΩ) for battery quality assessment training
  • 11 configurable switches across the vehicle to simulate errors/failures on AC sockets, cables, engine, inverter, batteries, and car body
  • Safe approach training for high-voltage (“orange”) parts, including proper use of jumpers, barriers, and protection methods
  • AC charging simulation from both single-phase and three-phase EV sockets
  • High-voltage battery fault simulation, including BMS A/B errors and internal resistance comparison faults
  • Insulation failure simulation on high-voltage lines, engine, and battery positive/negative terminals to ground
  • Bonding and grounding equalization training between the car body, engine, inverter, and REESS battery using the 4-wire Kelvin method
  • Compatible with multiple Metrel testers, including the MI 3132 EV Tester, MI 3288, MI 3144, and MI 3155
  • Supports recommended safety equipment use — cotton gloves, voltage safety gloves, arc-rated gloves, and helmet with shield — as part of realistic training scenarios

Supported Testers:

  • MI 3132 EV Tester
  • MI 3288 Earth Insulation Tester
  • MI 3144 Euro Z 800 V
  • MI 3155 EurotestXD

Steering Wheel Lockout: A Critical Safety Measure

Ensuring the safety of vehicles during maintenance or restricted operation is a crucial responsibility in many industries. One of the most effective ways to achieve this is by using steering wheel lockouts. But what exactly are they, and why are they so essential? Let’s dive in. What is Steering Wheel Lockout? Steering wheel lockout refers

The Convenience of Insulated Composite Gloves in Electrical Safety.

When working with electrical equipment, safety is critical. Traditionally, the three-glove system has been the go-to for many workers. This system, based on the ASTM D120 standard, involves wearing three layers: a cotton inner glove, a rubber insulating glove, and a leather outer glove for mechanical protection. While this method is effective, it can be

Insulated Ladders in the Electrical Workplace in Australia

What is an Insulated Ladder? Insulated ladders are essential tools designed to provide a safer working environment for those around electricity. These ladders are constructed from non-conductive materials, such as fibreglass, which prevents the ladder from becoming a conductor of electricity. In electrical workplaces, where the risk of contact with live wires or electrical equipment
